Description
The insulation consists of thick wadding, a synthetic material that provides insulation thanks to the air trapped within its fibres (double layer on the body and single layer on the arms). The NH900 parka is comfortable down to -20°C (with a temperature threshold of -40°C), making it ideal for harsh winter conditions such as extreme cold, snow or blizzards. The wide inner flap beneath the zip, the drawstrings at the jacket hem and the snow-proof hood add to this thermal insulation.
The “recommended” temperature corresponds to the outdoor temperature at which 95% of users hiking at a moderate pace under controlled conditions reported feeling neither too hot nor too cold." The “threshold” temperature is the temperature at which 80% of users, exercising under the same conditions, reported feeling neither too hot nor too cold. These are test results, which will vary from person to person depending on their individual sensitivity to the cold.
Waterproofing, achieved through a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerbers or mm H²0 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. This is a lining, and the garment is waterproof to 15,000 mm Schmerbers (before washing). In addition to the fabric itself, to ensure greater waterproofing, the main seams of the NH100 jacket are sealed using waterproof adhesive tape applied to the inside of the garment.
The NH900 jacket comes with a range of accessories to enhance your comfort and make it easier to use: - 1 snow-proof hood (synthetic fur) - Cuffs - 1 elasticated waistband - 2 warm hand pockets, 2 chest pockets, 1 “Napoleon” pocket and 2 inner mesh pockets - 2 ease-of-movement zips at the jacket hem, which you can open to bend down or sit
To dress appropriately for winter, we recommend following the 3-layer rule: 1. A technical base layer, which wicks away moisture to keep you dry. 2. A second layer (fleece, jumper), which provides warmth and wicks away moisture. And that’s a good thing - this jacket is designed so you can wear a fleece underneath! 3. A waterproof jacket that protects against the elements: rain, snow, wind.
Close the zips, loosen the ties and follow the instructions on the label. You can use the tumble dryer or leave it to air dry, adding 5 minutes with a hairdryer (the heat helps with waterproofing). Find tutorials on our YouTube channel or our customer support website.
The water-repellent finish on your jacket needs to be reactivated regularly (every 3 washes): over time, even though it remains waterproof thanks to the material, it will appear to absorb water. To do this, use a reactivating spray or a re-coating product and follow the tutorials on our after-sales service website.
This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.
