What is a number belt used for?
In the triathlon, you have to wear your number on your back during the cycling portion and on your front when you run to keep it visible. So, to make it easy for you and help you save time during your transitions, we recommend using a number belt:You attach your number to your belt, and turn it according to the different portions of the triathlon. And to make it even handier, we've come up with a number belt that can carry your gels!
Let us tell you more about the design of the lightweight and comfortable long-distance number belt.
Looking for a product that is simple to use, but which won't weigh you down when you run? This is why we made the following design choices:- Its light and soft fabrics mean less weight and less irritation.- The rip-tab on the two G-easy flasks holds your gels in place during the race without the belt moving when you remove them.- The silicone gel band allows the belt to stay in place when you run.- The front pocket is made of 3D mesh for more comfort and lower weight.
What should you eat during a long race?
In general, you will find refreshment stands offering drinks at triathlons and long-distance races. But where food is concerned, it's more of an individual affair. As a general rule, we recommend drinking one gel an hour while cycling, and then one gel every 30 minutes while running. And as one G-Easy is the equivalent of two regular gels, you can carry your four G-Easy gels in your number belt: One in each flask and two in the front pocket. That will be enough for a triathlon or marathon :)
This is how the design of the long-distance number belt happened...
This product was designed to solve the following issue: how to follow nutrition and hydration recommendations during long races without slowing you down.In order to find a light and comfortable solution, our design team of seven triathletes spent 18 months studying, discussing and testing the product under use conditions with ten triathletes, both beginners and experts. We are very proud of the result of this hard work: an intuitive, practical and ergonomic product for all your distances!
One last tip for the road?
Here are some tips from Jérémie, Aptonia product manager so you can benefit from a number belt that you can put on and forget while you're running:"Wear the belt around your hips to keep it in place during the race: the silicone gel band should sit on the pelvic crest, which will stop the belt moving around during the race. It's worth taking a couple of moments during the transition to put it on properly, rather than trying to adjust it while you run!"
