      Description

Versatile pole for regular hikers and mountain trekkers.

What’s the background to its development?

Fully designed at the Simond R&D Centre in the heart of the Chamonix Valley, this hiking pole has seen the integration of the cork handle which offers a clear comfort benefit, while the push-pin system has been reworked. Aiming for versatility and longevity, this pole can be repaired and successfully paired with the lower section of the MT500 SHOCKPROOF model (ref. 8642204)

How to adjust the length of your poles quickly

Pull the bottom section all the way out until the auto push-pin (metal button) locks into place - Open the lever of the external blocker and slide the tube to the desired length. Close the lever again and ensure you never go past the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.

What precautions should you take when using the poles?

This hiking pole should allow you to efficiently maintain your balance on mountain paths. For your safety, check that your pole is locked in correctly before each outing. If you notice that your pole tends to slide down, the locking mechanism turn ring needs to be retightened. Open the lever and tighten the knob slightly before testing again. Please do not attach the poles to the outside of your bag in periods of storms or thunder.

What accessories are sold separately and are suitable for use with this pole model?

At Simond, accessorisation and the compatibility of our products are key. You can pair this hiking pole with a wide range of accessories and spare parts. Hiking pole caps: ref. 8580865 Summer baskets : ref. 8737774 Winter baskets: ref. 8503857 Replacement tip: ref. 8755646 Replacement ring: ref. 8642201 Lower segment MT500 cork: ref. 8997011

How do you clean and maintain these hiking poles?

Maintaining your hiking poles allows you to extend their lifespan. After use, if water has penetrated the stick, remove the strands and allow to dry. If necessary, clean off any dust or mud with clean water or dry, using a soft brush or paintbrush. Once completely dry, you can reassemble the sections. Do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.

Why is the pole sold individually?

We’ve decided to sell this hiking pole as an individual unit.
