      Description

Semi-static rope, designed for rope ascents and descents or setting up low-elongation fixed rope. Not suitable for absorbing a fall when climbing.

Recommendations for use with your ascender

This rope has been tested with the main ascenders on the market under normal conditions. Before use, make sure your ascender is compatible with a 10.5 mm rope and carry out a test in a safe environment, such as on the ground or in an area where there is no risk of falling.

      EN 1891: 1998

Technical characteristics (standard EN 1891: 1998)

Weight: 65 g/m Core weight: 62% Sheath weight: 38% Number of falls: 15 Impact force: 500 daN Elongation: 3.7% Sheath slippage: 0 Knotability: 0.69 Breaking strength: 2800 daN Breaking strength with figure of eight knot: >1500 daN Shrinkage in water: 3.3% Type: A

What is the benefit of low static elongation?

Unlike “static” ropes with no elongation, semi-static ropes have a low coefficient of elongation: not enough to absorb a fall, but enough to soften violent jolts on the anchor and the user in the event of a small slip.

Why can’t it absorb a fall when climbing?

Semi-static ropes have low elongation, insufficient to absorb the force of a fall. If used to arrest a fall in climbing, they would transmit a violent shock to both the climber and the anchor, endangering the safety and well-being of those involved. This limited elongation is precisely the benefit of a semi-static rope: it allows the user to climb or work at height without the rope bouncing.

Looking for a reliable semi-static rope that’s compatible with most ascenders? this 10.5 mm x 100 m semi-static rope provides strength and comfort, particularly for rope ascents.
