Why wear boxing wraps under your gloves?
Elastic boxing wraps have two purposes: they protect both your wrists and your gloves. For your joints, they are made to lock them and limit irritation on areas with repeated strikes. And for your gloves, using these wraps makes them more resistant to perspiration.
How to choose elastic boxing wraps
It depends on the type of boxing you do. Do you mostly do less-intensive boxing with touch sparring? Go for 2.5 m or 3 m elastic wraps that protect your thumbs, metacarpals, and wrists. Do you train more intensively with more vigorous combats? Choose 4 m or 4.5 m wraps, which are thicker, for increased support.
